New Pet Advice

Getting a new pet is exciting, but it can also be a stressful time making sure that you have all the correct information to keep your new companion healthy throughout its life.  The team here at Abbotswood strive to provide you with up-to-date information as well as a support network.

First thing upon collection of your new pet, we strongly recommend that you bring them in for a free health check* where we will be able to diagnose most conditions that would make it necessary to return the pet to the breeders before you become too attached.  We can advise on flea treatments, worming protocol, neutering, nutrition and insurance as well as answering any questions you may have.

Another service we provide for our clients is a free puppy party - yes it is as fun as it sounds!  The benefit of these evenings is that it allows your puppy to develop confidence in the surgery so when they come in for a consultation, operation or procedure they would not find it as scary.

It is also a safe environment for socialisation with other puppies of a variety of different breeds and sizes, who also live in the local area.  The nurses who run these classes will also give the puppies regular checks to ensure that your puppy is growing at the correct rate and address any concerns you may have.

There may also be some free gifts!

*if your pet has a pre-existing condition, a consultation fee may be charged.
